9 3.1 | Regular Work Hours and Schedules

The HANDS in Autism® office is typically open Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Volunteering outside of the normal office hours (i.e. earlier or later hours/weekends) will depend on the availability of HANDS in Autism® staff. Please check with your coordinator if you are interested in volunteering during non-typical hours.

You will be expected to maintain a regular work schedule throughout each semester. Occasionally, you may be asked to work outside of normal hours to assist with evening workshops or other trainings. Assisting with these trainings will count toward your weekly hours.

You are required to take a 30-minute your lunch if your shift is five hours or longer. Shifts less than 5 hours do not require a lunch break. An hour lunch may also be required based on your position and duration of shifts. Lunch
is not counted towards your work hours. Contact your coordinator for more details. For expectations regarding working from home, see section 3.4.
