2 The History of Oxford, Ohio

Oxford, Ohio was founded in 1810, just one year after Miami University was established, but it officially became a town in 1960. Oxford’s growth has been largely based around the growth of the university, with the establishment of many town businesses and attractions built by Miami alum and other prominent town families. Forbes has cited Oxford as the best college town in the country.

Oxford is a collection of small town businesses, both new and old, that add to the town’s charm. It has all of the charm of a typical small town while having the attraction of a population of people from all over the world.
