7 Additional Activities

Afternoon Activities:

This year we will have a variety of afternoon activities in which students will participate. For example…

(i) Students will learn about Spanish artists/photographers and create their own artwork or take pictures inspired by that artist/photographer.

(ii) Students will engage in yoga and/or meditation and physical activity (e.g., soccer, steal the bacon, etc.).

(iii) Students will sing/dance/act in preparation for the Fiesta de despedida that will be performed by the students in front of the host families.

(iv) Students will watch famous Spanish films (e.g., La Llamada) and shows (e.g., Cuéntame cómo pasó).

Community Engagement:

Students will have the opportunity to get involved in the greater Almería community during afternoon activities through our new community work component. This aspect of the program provides a rich cultural exchange that reaches beyond that of the host family experience and allows students to integrate themselves into Spanish life in a unique way.
