- Dr. Samantha Earley’s collaborative print with Nancy DeJoy “Now” received Honorable Mention in the Fantastical Flora and Fauna exhibit at the South Haven Center for the Arts in South Haven, MI. The entry was one of 200 entries with 54 entries being chosen. “Now” was in the top 6. Read more.

- Professor Michael Jackman’s project proposal, Researching the Effects of Service Learning on Writing Majors, was selected for funding through the High-Impact Community Engagement Practices grant program. The review committee approved the project to receive funding in the amount of $2,500.00 from Indiana Campus Compact. Congratulations Professor Jackman!

- The winners of the Common Experience Creative Writing Competition are:

Ryan Drury The prompt for the competition was to share an experience either through poetry or short story where someone the writer knows made an intentional and mindful decision to do something that made an impact in a positive way.

- Dr. Sandra Patterson-Randles shared exciting news that English alumnus, Brett Blevins who served as Dr. Patterson-Randles’ assistant used that practicum experience to secure a teaching assistantship at Western Michigan University in Medieval Studies. Brett was awarded with the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award at Western Michigan University.
