IEW Program

Dr. Anne Allen spearheaded the International Education Week (IEW) Program held in November. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the committee of Study Abroad and Global Awareness opted to offer activities to celebrate international education week via a remote modality.

IUS Writing Center sees increased traffic during COVID-19

The IU Southeast Writing Center made changes this semester to accommodate students’ schedules by adding more appointment types, due to COVID-19, and is encouraging ways for students to get involved in the upcoming semesters. Read the feature story online in The Horizon.

SUBMISSION CRITERIA

  • Start of entry: Feb 1, 2012. End of entry: Midnight, Mar 31, 2021.
  • Theme: I Care! Note that you don’t necessarily have to include the theme’s title in your design but visualize your message to suggest how you care about your health as well as those around you. Be creative. Feel free to use direct, representational, abstract, pictorial, or graphical elements.
  • Each participant can submit a maximum of three entries.
  • Each submission must be accompanied by no more than a 150-word explanation in your email, together with your full name, school, and department.
  • Name your file as such: LASTNAME_ICAREMASK01.(…02)
  • Send your entries to: yeohk@ius.edu.
  • File type: PDF or JPEG in 300 dpi, RGB. Limit your file size to no more than 5MB per submission.
  • Colors: Unlimited. Graphics/images: Original and non-offensive.
  • Use the template provided (below) as a guide for submission. In addition to the standard template provided, you may wish to submit a digital mockup of your design(s) as worn on the face using paid templates (optional).

JURORS

    • Dr. Seuth Chalenphonh
      As the Dean of Student Life at Indiana University Southeast, Dr. Chalenphonh leads the Campus Life team and also serves as the chief student conduct officer. Campus life promotes student engagement opportunities and leadership developments.
    • Dr. Kok Cheow Yeoh
      Dr. Yeoh is the Graphic Design Area Head at IU Southeast’s Fine Arts program. He has actively participated in several international exhibitions. His students have also participated in local and international conferences as well as design competitions.
    • Dr. Julia Ann Mattingly
      A certified Public Health Clinical Nurse Specialist, Dr. Mattingly has taught as IUS since 2015 and has been an RN for 28 years. She graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1992 with her BSN; the University of Hartford with her MSN with a community/public health focus in 2006; and Loyola University Chicago with her DPN in 2014.

Any copyright infringement will be breached by the participant who submits the work and not by the organizers. The winning design may be printed as limited-edition giveaway masks for students. The contest is open to registered students at IU Southeast. The jurors reserve their rights to determine the final winner.
