COMMUNICATION

  • Dean Hesselman is directing a production of The Nerd by Larry Shue this spring. Performances for The Nerd are scheduled from Friday, February 18 through Sunday, February 27, 2022. Donations will be accepted and greatly appreciated! Read more about the production.
  • Georgette Kleier will be teaching a directing class along with Dean Hesselman and in the spring their students will be presenting an evening of directing scenes.

MUSIC

The ensembles in the Music Department will be performing their spring concerts — free of charge (donations accepted) — on the following dates:

  • Commonwealth Brass Band, Wednesday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m.
  • IU Southeast Concert Choir & Community Chorus, Sunday, April 3 at 3 p.m.
  • IU Southeast Concert Band, Sunday, April 10 at 3 p.m.
  • IU Southeast Orchestra, Sunday, April 24 at 3 p.m.

FINE ARTS

The IU Southeast Fine Arts Department will be featuring an exhibition “Linked” by Kacey Slone and Kathryn Combs through February 24, 2022. The event is free and open to the public.

“Linked” is a collaboration by IU Southeast alumni Kacey Slone and Kathryn Combs. This multimedia exhibition explores themes of privacy, connection, loneliness, and longing in a time of 24/7 access to social media and digital presence.

Slone received an MFA in intermedia from the University of Texas Arlington and Combs received an MFA in Printmaking from the University of Indiana. Both teach classes at IU Southeast in their respective areas.
