STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION

  • Courtney Kessinger and Cheri Receveur have been named 2022-2023 Junior Chancellor Medallion Scholarship recipients. The Chancellor’s Medallion Scholarship recognizes academic excellence, leadership, and perseverance. Congratulations to Courtney and Cheri for receiving one of the most coveted scholarships available at IU Southeast! Courtney, a junior, is studying journalism, media, and strategic communication – multimedia journalism. Cheri, a senior, is majoring in interdisciplinary studies with focuses in communications, English writing, and theater. Read more about the Chancellor’s Medallion Scholarship ⬈

JOURNALISM

  • An open house was held at “Horizon” student radio in November. Open house visitors were able to pick a song for Horizon’s playlist and were able to see what they might look like as a TV correspondent.

THEATRE

  • Over the summer and fall of 2021, the production team and performers experimented with recording and editing audio using Adobe Audition, before recording three performances of short plays. The actors gained experience in vocal performance while recording Pariah by August Strindberg, The Boor by Anton Chekhov, and Trifles by Susan Glaspell. The group then took on various responsibilities editing and adding sound effects to create a finished product of each audio performance. Audio recording technology was utilized to perform and record audio versions of public domain one act plays, much like an audiobook or podcast.Former visiting professor, Ashley Wallace provided an IU Southeast Audio Production YouTube link that her fellowship group completed. The production team consisted of: Seth Davis, M Salisbury, Jaime Young Irvin, and Branden Gliebe. The performers were: M Salisbury, Jaime Young Irvin, Branden Gliebe, Kyleigh Herring, Hamilton Craig, and Ashley Wallace.
