Fine Arts

  • Fine Art Faculty exhibition was held from September 8 through October 7 at the Barr Gallery. Exhibiting faculty artists were: Emily Sheehan, Debra Clem, Donna Stallard, Tammy Burke, Kirstin Tuttle, Leslie Doyle, Lalana Fedorschak, Alan Peters, Rebecca Norton, Tiffany Carbonneau, Kacey Slone, Kok Cheow Yeoh, Jennifer Palmer, and Brian Harper.
  • The Digital Art BFA Seniors presented “Figment”, a multimedia experience at the Barr Gallery.

  • The Annual Holiday Dirt Bags Art Sale was held on November 9. Students sold pottery, planters, prints, and other creative items. Proceeds from the sale support the activities of the club, which include travel to educational conferences and art exhibitions, supporting visiting artists to the Fine Art program, and other community building activities.
  • Professor Donna Stallard’s Summer Faculty Fellowship worked collaboratively on the Candy Land Project with the city of Charlestown. The event took place on October 28 from 5-7:30 in Greenway ParkDecorative image
  • An October “Common Experience”, Uncommonly Honest event showcased Carly Riegger, a ceramic artist in post-baccalaureate studies in that discipline at IU Southeast. A lot of Riegger’s artwork is about their disability. Read more⬈

Fine Arts Alumni

  • LVA in partnership with Mellwood Art Center and Catan Studio held a mural reveal community event celebrating the mural art of Amie Villiger Harris. The mural was revealed at the Mellwood Art Center on the DaVinci Room patio.Decorative image
  • Amie Villiger Harris was also featured in the Arts and Letters February 2021 newsletter for the mural she created for the Boone Building in Whitesburg, Kentucky. Whitesburg was one of the communities impacted by the devastating Eastern Kentucky floods over the summer. Decorative image
