AMPATH Consortium Clinical Rotations in Kenya
- March Arrivals:
- 1 IU medicine resident, 1 IU pediatrics resident, 1 UT Dell pediatrics resident, 1 IU medicine-pediatrics resident, 1 IU plastic surgery resident, and one UT Dell neurology resident
Clinical Rotation Approval Process:
- If your institution plans to send trainees to Kenya during the next academic year, please contact Victoria Eder (vneder@iu.edu) to confirm ward availability.
- Once availability has been confirmed and at least 10 weeks in advance of the rotation, the trainee(s) should submit an AMPATH Kenya Visit Pre-Approval Form. This will be reviewed by the AMPATH Education team as a final check; once approved, the trainee may request housing and apply for a medical license.

- As part of AMPATH’s commitment to reciprocity, any AMPATH member institution that sends trainees to Kenya is expected to host Moi University trainees. If you have not already done so, please notify Victoria Eder (vneder@iu.edu) when your institution’s plans to host Moi students and/or registrars in the upcoming academic year.

AMPATH Consortium Clinical Rotations in Kenya
- January Arrivals:
- 1 IUSM student and 3 Purdue pharmacy students
- Clinical Rotation Approval Process:
- If your institution plans to send trainees to Kenya during this or the next academic year, please contact Victoria Eder (vneder@iu.edu) to confirm ward and IU House availability.
- Once availability has been confirmed and at least 10 weeks in advance of the rotation, the student(s) should submit an AMPATH Kenya Visit Pre-Approval Form. 2025 Moi Student Rotations
- A logistics planning meeting for the institutions hosting students is scheduled for April 10 from 2-3PM EDT. Any institution hosting students this year or who plan to host students in future years are welcome to attend. Contact Victoria Eder (vneder@iu.edu) for details.
- Medical Student Rotations
- MUSOM is in the process of ranking the medical students and will be sharing the list and finalized rotation dates soon.
- The number of rotation spots available at AMPATH Consortium member institutions has been confirmed: 16 in the US (Brown, Duke, IU, Kaiser Permanente, Mount Sinai, UT Dell, and UVA), 2 at University of Toronto, and 4 at Linkoping.
- IU School of Nursing plans to host 2 MU nursing students again this fall.
- In addition to the 4 medical students, Linkoping will also host 2 nursing students, 2 physio students, and 2 medical bioscience student
- 2025 UDS Student Rotations
- Eight UDS students have been selected for rotations this fall at NYU (4), IU (2), and Temple (2).
AMPATH GLOBAL
- AMPATH Global Education Committee meets the third Thursday of each month from 9-10AM ET to discuss education-related topics.
