Education
- Currently have 2 Sinai residents and 3 Sinai medical students participating in electives in Nepal
- Dr. Rachel Fischer and Dr. Melanie Brown led a Global Mental Health course for the KUSMS MPH students.
- Exchanges to Sinai: Dr. Bibek has a visa appointment for July 16 (ICU), Nabin and Sujata have appointments in May 2025 (Neuro), and Sameera on March 18, 2025 (Peds Pulm).
- Signed a PLA for Sinai Critical Care Fellowship Exchanges
- Providing Helping Babies Breathe TOT and outreach center trainings the last week of February (JohnKulesa from Sinai Peds will be here for that)
Research
- Preparations are underway for the next round of pilot funding
- Plans are underway for research training and capacity building activities for later this year
Care
- Dr. Posada visited Nepal earlier this month spending time with our antibiotic stewardship team, developing antibiotic guidelines for pneumonia.
- Working on logistics for launch of adolescent health clinic
- Potential opportunity for care grant through Astellas for school mental health program – discussions with AMPATH Kenya team
- Dhulikhel Hospital has a full-time Oncologist and Nephrologist that recently joined the hospital. Weare organizing calls with Sinai teams to begin collaborative talk about advancing these subspecialties.
- Dr. Glassman from Mount Sinai’s Philips School of Nursing, Dr. Branden from Sinai and leadership from Kenya Nursing participated in the Dhulikhel’s International Nursing Conference last week and continued discussions for collaboration in nursing.
- Adolescent Clinic set to launch April 3, in intensive planning process right now.
- Lilly NCD program will be screening in conjunction with other DH community programs HTN/DM initiatives in next 1-2 months
