- Dhulikhel Hospital announced new leadership appointments. Two of our key AMPATH Nepal collaborators received new leadership appointments with Dhulikhel Hospital. Dr. Biraj Karmacharya was named the Administrative Director of Dhulikhel Hospital and Dr. Abha Shrestha was named the new Director of Global Engagement.
- Strong response to the second round of AMPATH Nepal pilot grants. In the second round of pilot funding, AMPATH Nepal received 68 letters of intent. The team is currently working with applicants in need of collaborators to connect them with eligible faculty counterparts before they submit full applications for review and consideration.
- Education exchanges continue to grow with AMPATH Nepal. The number of educational exchanges within AMPATH Nepal have continued to grow this year. Since January, AMPATH Nepal has hosted 2 internal medicine residents, 1 Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellow, 3 psychiatry faculty, resident, and student. In addition, 3 pediatric emergency medicine faculty and fellows conducted a Pediatric Advance Live Support (PALS) training, a simulation training, and completed an assessment to determine simulation capabilities for potential collaboration with the Sinai Simulation Center.
- Dhulikhel Hospital & KUSMS nurses to attend Nursing Symposium in Eldoret, Kenya. AMPATH Nepal will support 4 nurses from Dhulikhel to attend the upcoming Nursing Symposium hosted by AMPATH Kenya.
