Education
- Continuing to work on a new plan for student exchanges with Kaiser Permanente in Nepal
- Kaiser will be sending 2 students annually to Dhulikhel starting in 2026 and holding 2 spots for Nepalese trainees in internal medicine and pediatrics
- At AMPATH Nepal, we hosted 3 learners last month and we will host 1 more in May
- A trainee from Linköping University was approved to come to Nepal this fall
- An application process for Dhulikhel students travelling to AMPATH exchanges was created and will include a committee of Dhulikhel leadership to review applicants and select participants
Research
- Planning new research focused trainings for later this year
- Research team is planning travel to Nepal in late October/November to conduct trainings
- Trainings may include a research symposium modeled on the AMPATH Kenya Research Symposium this fall
Care
- AMPATH Nepal and Dhulikhel Hospital launched their first adolescent health clinic last week
- Hosted a successful visit by the KENON team which included partners from IU and Moi Oncology teams and continues the expansion of Lilly funded cervical cancer screening programs
- ERCP training was completed with more on-site training at Moi by Dhulikhel faculty and nurse will be the recommended next step
