Responsiveness of Claimant
Even if you have a representative, Social Security will need to get a great deal of information directly from you, the claimant.
This means that failure to respond in a timely manner can make your case take longer than necessary and reduce your chances of being approved. If your reviewer is unable to get accurate information from you, or if they are unable to get information at all, they simply cannot make an effective decision. When they are unable to make an effective decision they usually deny the claim for lack of evidence. So, responsiveness and quick responsiveness is as important as anything else to your claim.
Additionally, giving clear and well-thought-out responses is just as important. Focus on giving clear and concise answers to the questions asked. Err on the side of being open and honest. It is very common for claimants to take an adversarial and argumentative approach, when questioned about the authenticity of their disabilities. Unfortunately, the reviewer on your case has complete discretion. So, any suspicion or confusion will certainly result in a denial.
