4 Wah

In 1966, Brad Plunkett developed the wah pedal while working for the Thomas Organ Company. Plunkett was tasked with developing a mid range boost for a Vox amplifier. After addressing the issue, he was asked to put the circuit into a pedal format. During the process, he combined the circuit with the existing circuit of a Vox volume pedal. This led to the wah pedal which quickly grew in popularity and was used by players across all genres, notably by Jimi Hendrix and Sly Stone who inspired its use on Motown records. (Vox Show Room)
