Introduction to this Learning Resource
Team case presentations are a hallmark of the Kelley first-year student experience. As a Kelley student, you’ll gain important insights about business functions, client needs, creative problem solving, and persuasive communication as you work through a business case with your peers. You will also be challenged by team interactions, project management, and the demands of public speaking.
The Kelley Team Case Presentation Toolkit was designed with you in mind. It is your hands-on guide to creating effective team case presentations. This resource is a ready-to-use reference for all parts of the team case presentation process, from team formation, creative problem solving, interpreting a client’s needs, addressing interpersonal conflicts, running efficient team meetings, and creating engaging visual aids, to confidently and cohesively deliver your team’s ideas on presentation day.
The authors of this toolkit are full-time faculty in Business Communication at Kelley. We’ve come together to create this guide to support your success in preparing and delivering team case presentations, both as a Kelley student and as a business professional.
By following the links provided, you can access guidance and “pro tips” from faculty and fellow students to guide your team through the case analysis, team interactions, and presentation experience. Topics are broadly grouped into three sections: Case Analysis & Argument; Team & Project Management; and Team Case Presentation Preparation & Delivery.
The Case Analysis & Argument section will help you approach your assigned case systematically and efficiently, so that you can offer a recommendation to the case problem that is credible, well-supported, and responsive to the client’s needs and values.
The Team & Project Management section will help you to navigate the team formation process, diagnose and respond to interpersonal conflict and team challenges, and use your time effectively as you move through the case project.
The Team Case Presentation Preparation & Delivery will help you identify strategies to effectively communicate your case recommendation to your audience, leveraging each team member’s strengths and coordinating the presentation for maximum impact.
