3 Adam Haynes – End-of-Semester Communication Reflection
Adam Haynes is a senior from Macon, Georgia who is majoring in Biochemistry. He completed the reflection below, in the Situation-Task-Action-Result-Reflection (STARR) format, for his Molecular Biology course taught by Dr. Jill Schweitzer. Professor Jill Schweitzer notes “I want to celebrate this writing because it is exceptionally clear and concise. Adam used the STARR format effectively!”
End-of-Semester Communication Reflection
I demonstrated clear and effective communication skills in molecular biology by efficiently contributing to the groups that I was a part of in my course. I assumed the role of keeping my teams on track throughout the course of the semester. I ensured collaboration and relevant communication by contributing with course material when progress halted as well as aided in the efficient flow of ideas throughout my groups. This was evident when I introduced that parental DNA would be synthesized in the 3′ to 5′ direction of the replication fork. The result was clear and effective communication that contributed to the overall success of my group as well as myself in my molecular biology course.
