31 Josalyn Lewis & Megan Hemp – DNA Replication and Repair Project

This video is part of the DNA Replication and Repair Project for molecular biology in fall 2023. This TikTok video created a fun and educational way to break down, “What is DNA Repair?” to a more general audience. Within the video, Josalyn and Megan break down the different damages or mutations caused during DNA replication, specifically double strand breaks. The video also goes in depth about the effects of these damages and how these mutations and damages are repaired by nonhomologous end joining and homologous recombination.  Professor Jill Schweitzer notes, “I want to celebrate this creative work because it is exceptional, original and interesting. Josalyn and Megan created an engaging video that connects with non-scientists!”
