Although government shutdowns are rare incidents, they are something that affects us all. Government shutdowns are easily avoidable, but because of the disparity between the two politicals parties in the House and Senate, our nation, and we all as citizens, suffer. Due to the disagreement that fails to yield a compromise, our government ultimately suffers from a shutdown. For something as harmful as this, it is fairly easy to prevent, and that falls on us. With decreasing GDP, destruction of economic growth and progress, and the furloughment of government employees, shutdowns prove to be detrimental to our nation’s economy.
