Appendix: Creating a Team

Instructions for creating a team

Step1: Select the Team icon on the left menu bar and then click the Create a Team button.

 

Step 2: Enter a name for the team, add a description relevant to the purpose of the group, and finally select the appropriate privacy option for the team. Click the Next button.

Privacy Options

Private – team is only viewable to assigned members and guests

Public – along with members and guests, team is viewable by anyone in the organization

 

Step3: Add members and guests to the team by entering an email address and clicking the Add button.  When all members and guests have been added, click Close.

Member – individual from within the organization

Guest – individual from outside the organization

 

Step 4: Access the team you just set-up in the MS Teams window.

 

Step 5: Each member and guest added to the team will receive a notification email.  They are able to access the team by clicking the Open Microsoft Teams button within the email.
