Before you return to the earth,

take time to remember your worth.

You are far more cherished than you know,

despite the chaos you might sew.

You will find love around your hearth.

You’ll spit blood and howl, scream and curse

“In what grim world could this be worse?”

This is a pain you will outgrow

before you return to the earth.

After the shock and after the blur

life will continue and you will learn.

It hurts now, but the blood’s steady flow

will wane in time and begin to slow.

Long after this arduous rebirth,

with grace you will return to the earth.
