INFECTIOUS DISEASES
Goals: To develop a Transplant Infectious Diseases Section and Center of Excellence which will grow the division’s clinical and research interests in this important field; to expand the division’s basic science research portfolio with additional physician-scientists focused on new discoveries to reduce communicable diseases
Clinical Areas of Excellence:
HIV care; expertise in non-tuberculous mycobacterium; transplant and immunosuppressed infectious diseases care; care of sexually transmitted infections and a broad range of infectious diseases in inpatient and outpatient settings
Education Areas of Excellence:
the fellowship program offers an excellent opportunity to choose and focus on one of the various different infectious diseases tracks (infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship, medical education, global health, etc.); this unique set up helps the fellows succeed in their chosen clinical infectious diseases career
