Arriving in Lecce, Italy
Gourmet Food Tour
Students engaged in a culinary exploration, visiting local businesses and producers as part of a food tour.
Jewish Museum Lecce
Students explored the Jewish Museum of Lecce, delving into the rich history of Lecce’s Jewish community.
Olive Farm Tour
Students were able to explore an olive farm and co-op featuring ancient trees that are eight centuries old.
Locorotondo and Mozzarella Cheesemaking
Students explored the quaint town of Locorotondo, engaging in a visit to a mozzarella cheese producer and gaining hands-on experience in the art of cheese-making.
Pasta Making
After returning to Lecce, students immersed themselves in the art of pasta-making, mastering the craft of shaping various pasta forms, including orchiette (commonly known as ‘little ears’).
Traveling from Italy to Spain
After departing from Italy, the students arrived in Barcelona, Spain, and adeptly navigated the metro system from the airport to their hotel.
Casa Batlló by Gaudi and Churros
Students visited Gaudi’s Casa Batlló before stopping for late night churros.
Paella Class
Students attended a paella class taught by Parc Güel.
Bike Tour of the City
Students explored the city on a bike tour, visiting iconic landmarks such as the Gothic Quarter (barrio gótico), Arc de Triomf, the opera house, and the Sagrada Familia.
Hammam
Students immersed themselves in a hammam, a bathing ritual rooted in the traditions of Muslim, Arabic, North African, and Middle Eastern cultures.
Flamenco
Students attended a flamenco dance.
La Boquería Food Market
Students toured the La Boquería food market before flying out of Barcelona.
Traveling from Spain to Morocco
Students flew from Barcelona, Spain, to Tangier, Morocco.
Rooftop Cooking Class
Students participated in a cooking class on a medina rooftop.
Market Tour
Students took a tour of local markets.
Traveling from Tangier, Morocco, to London, England
Students flew from Tangier, Morocco, to London, England for an overnight stay.
Day in London
Students visited the British Museum and an English pub before flying back to the United States.
