All faculty are required to use the grading tools available in Canvas.

Assessments should use rubrics to make grading criteria transparent to students. IDs and SMEs should coordinate regularly with the Assessment team to ensure that rubrics are specific and measurable.

Technologists and Lead ID should train faculty on helpful features such as anonymous grading, reusable instructor comments, etc.

Gradescope

Gradescope is a grading tool with features that make grading code easier and math problems easier, particularly at scale. It uses AI to analyze the answers and divide them into groups with similar responses. All faculty may add Gradescope to Canvas course navigation.
