Weekly message: Promote good communication
Here is an update on what we have accomplished in our course build in the past 2 weeks. Feel free to use this in sending any communications to your faculty colleagues.
Escalation Messages: Nonresponsive faculty
Can you please check in with CAMPUS about the PROGRAM NAME? Your list indicates that the lead faculty member for COURSE is NAME (EMAIL).
[LAY OUT FACTS OF ATTENDANCE OR LACK THEREOF] However, he has not responded to any of our Teams messages, Doodle polls, or meeting invitations. Nor has he sent any emails to let us know his status. He does not have an Out of Office message in Outlook.
I am requesting that you check in with CAMPUS as to whether NAME will be acting as lead faculty for COURSE (TERM). If not, the deans will need to find another faculty person to lead the development of the archetype course.
Support message: Instructional designer as mediator – offer help
If you have collaborators who are unfamiliar with writing measurable outcomes, it might be helpful to have an instructional designer join one of your conversations. Are you meeting regularly with your colleagues from other campuses? Maybe one of my team could join and provide facilitation.
Internal Message: Welcoming new IDs to the team
Good morning!
I am excited to welcome you to the team that will be working on the program of scale in [NAME OF PROGRAM].
[Description of each eDS person on the project and their roles.]
Next steps:
• You will be added to an eDS-only internal chat in Teams. This is where we can level-set internally.
•You will be added to a Microsoft Team and channels specifically for this degree program. This is where our work will be conducted, ensuring full transparency for the faculty involved.
• I will set up a weekly meeting for our new club! 😊
So excited to start this adventure with all of you!
