4 Initial Meetings

1. IU Online Program Kickoff

When a program of scale is announced, the Office of Online Education will organize a kickoff meeting with senior OOE/eDS staff and the leadership of the new program. At this meeting, each team will provide a brief explanation of the role they play in program development.

2. IU Online Orientation

Once the program has started, IUO will schedule an orientation (usually with a couple of times to chose from) that faculty are invited, but not required, to attend.

At this meeting, eDS will:

  • Introduce themselves
  • Describe the design process
  • Share a glimpse at how a ProS course looks

3. Course Design Kickoff Meeting

After the IUO Orientation meeting has occurred, the Manager/Principal will invite individual faculty to the kickoff meeting with the Manager/Principal, and the assigned Lead ID.

If possible, identify previously taught versions of the courses for the IDs to review before the kickoff.

If there are no versions to review, ask to review a course taught by the faculty you will be working with to get a sense of their teaching style and how they use Canvas.
