Introduction

This presentation was created for my Sociology of Families course at Indiana University of Kokomo, in 2019. In it, I hope to show my family and how we came to be where/who we are today. I will touch on perspective changes that have happened with my family over the generations and how that relates to Zerubavel’s 2012 Sociological Perspective of Ancestry and Descent textbook.

My name is Kariah Ky Barnett and my parents are Aaron Mathew Thomas and Contessa Diane Barnett. In order to categorize my family tree, I created history and timelines for both sides of the family, that can trace directly to me. Pertinent photos and documentation are linked within the text.

• Parents will be on the leftmost side of the page.
  • Children will be indented a single space.
    • While Grandchildren will be indented two spaces. OR I will create a second page and will link it to each child.
• Information is limited to word of mouth, Ancestrylibrary.com, Familysearch.org and Findagrave.com documentation. These are all websites that anyone can contribute to. While this is extremely helpful in some aspects, it also means that dates and names come with the possibility of being incorrect.
