Anna Carroll

Anna Carroll is a senior at Indiana University from South Bend, Indiana, studying sociology with a minor in Spanish. She wrote “Who Our Produce Comes From” about working exploitation, which ties to the common sociological theme of power structures. She is scuba certified and enjoys hiking and baking.

Patrick Felts

Patrick Felts is a senior at Indiana University from Indianapolis studying journalism with a concentration in sports. He wrote “Interception: Examining the Industry of Counterfeit NFL Jerseys” about counterfeit jerseys industry because he collects NFL jerseys and is interested in the sale and production of knockoffs in comparison to the real thing. He loves sports, music and video games.

Britta Hess

Britta Hess is a senior at Indiana University from Madison, Indiana, studying studio art with a media and creative advertising minor. She wrote “Not All Milk is Created Equal” about the nutrition and environmental impact of milk alternatives. She is a member of the Collins Living Learning Community and enjoys painting and figure drawing in her free time.

Livvie Hurley

Livvie Hurley is a senior at Indiana University from Fishers, Indiana, studying journalism with a minor in Spanish. She wrote “The New Fast Fashion: The Gentrification of Thrifting” because she has worked in the sustainable fashion industry for six years and would like to work in the fashion industry after graduation. She has been to 28 states with a goal to see all 50 and enjoys concerts, shopping, exercising, reading, and traveling.

Italia Ramos

Italia Nicole Ramos is a senior at Indiana University from South Bend, Indiana, studying psychology with a counseling minor. She wrote “Starbucks sustainability efforts: Is your latte worth all the food waste?” about Starbucks’ reputation for food waste and the ways that the company claims it is changing. She loves to dance, spend time with family, and explore new cultures.

Kayla Smock

Kayla Smock is a senior at Indiana University graduating in December 2023 from Linton, Indiana, studying psychology with a minor in youth development. She wrote “Farm to Table and All the in Between” about the journey of produce between farm and table because she wants people to understand where their food comes from and become more critical consumers. She leads Young Life at Brown County High School and enjoys reading and spending time outdoors.

Kyla Study

Kyla Study is a senior at Indiana University graduating in December 2023 from Markle, Indiana, studying psychology and criminal justice with an economics minor. She wrote “Behind the Scenes of a Small Town Farmer” about the corn and soybean industry because her grandparents have farmed these crops for over 45 years. She loves to spend time outdoors hiking and swimming, as well as with her family.

Zachary Todd

Zachary Todd is a senior at Indiana University graduating in December 2023 from Bloomington, Indiana, studying film, television, and digital production. He wrote “Vegetable Oils, Information Asymmetry, and Unknown Unknowns” about industrialized fats and vegetable oils. He enjoys drumming, cycling, and reading in his free time.
