Reporting Career Outcomes
There are four annual career outcome reports to complete, which are listed below in order they are submitted.
- ASPPH/CEPH (October)
- CAHME (November)
- AUPHA (November/December)
- FDS (January)
ASPPH/CEPH
This report will take the greatest amount of time and is the first report completed each fall semester as it requires removing all identifiable information and coding each response. Aside from the campus-wide collection, it also includes the most students.
The reporting period reflects back an additional year, meaning the report filed in 2025 will be reporting data from fall 2023 – Summer 2024.
Degrees not included in this report:
- Bachelor of Science in Health Services Management
- Bachelor of Science in Health Data Science
- Master of Science in Product Stewardship
- Master of Health Administration
Reference materials to assist with coding:
- FDS Notes from Amelia
- 2023 ASPPH annual data collection instructions
- Example grad outcome CSV spreadsheet
Important things to remember:
- If a program does not have an 80% positive outcome, it will be flagged as a concern
CAHME
CAHME reports only the MHA students. This report should be prepared after ASPPH is completed. This will be provided to the MHA program director and includes some specific questions that are unique to this report.
Reporting period is the previous fall through summer graduates.
The unique questions listed below require a 20% response rate to reach the established threshold. This requirement is new for the report submitted in 2024 and may be subject to change.
- How likely are you (graduated students who responded) to recommend your program to a friend or an acquaintance looking to advance their careers in healthcare?
- How satisfied are you (graduated students who responded) with your program of study?
- All things being equal, if you (graduated students who responded) had to do it all over again, would you choose to go to your program?
Proposed collection change
Collect program satisfaction feedback in capstone course through this survey: https://iu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_801wBenMkxEFjFk.

AUPHA
This report contains only data from HSM students and is submitted to the faculty overseeing that program. It includes additional questions about program satisfaction. Reporting period is Fall – Summer of the most recently concluded year. Data is due in November/December.
Data for IUFW students must be collected for this report as well. Staff at IUFW collect the information on the same timeline as IUI and can share outcomes each Spring semester. It will be important to verify if they are collecting information about program satisfaction.
Outcomes for each student must be categorized into the options listed below along with a count of the number of graduates who are included in that category. Additional questions to report outcomes include salary (median and total reporting) and program satisfaction.

FDS
This is the campus-wide effort to collect information and populate our publicly facing database of career outcome information, accessible here: https://career.indianapolis.iu.edu/outcomes/.
Data is collected through Handshake and support through the Campus Career and Advising Services office. Reporting period is by fiscal year (July 1 – June 30), meaning summer graduates in the same semester may fall into different reporting years based on the date the degree was awarded.
