4 Adopt Don’t Shop

There are millions of animal shelters and yet there aren’t enough to keep all of the strays safe and off the streets. Two kinds of animal shelters are out there, the no-kill shelters and ones who have limits on how long an animal can stay there. According to ASPCA In one year there are 1.5 million animals euthanized.

The reason why animal shelters have to put down animals is because shelters do not have the money, space, or people to keep all the animals. It is very sad but the most common breads in the shelter that gets put down are Pit-bulls or mixed breads.

It is common for people to want to buy from breeders or puppy mills because they are looking for specific breeds such as golden retrievers, Rottweilers, pugs etc. There are also a large difference in pricing. Adopting can cost anywhere around 75 dollars to 180 and from breeders, depending on the breed, can be anywhere from 4,000 to 14,000 dollars.
