Whether you’re new to online education or simply new to IU, you probably have a lot of questions about the IU Online experience. This test drive gives you a taste of online learning and answers many of your questions. In it, you discover who’s taking online courses and explore the types of learning activities you can expect, the services you’ll enjoy, the technology and tools that will be available to you, and much more. You can also preview real IU Online courses and gain first-hand experience with the different learning activities you’ll complete online.

At Indiana University we focus on excellence in every facet of what we do, whether it be teaching, research, or service to the university or community. This set of online modules provides a concise orientation for faculty who are new to teaching online at IU.

This course is for the instructor who is comfortable in Canvas, but wants to level up their design work and attune themselves to the latest tips & tricks used by eLearning Design & Services, the instructional design team at Indiana University.

Teaching for Student Success: An Evidence-Based Approach, 2e is redesigned and updated with new material. It provides a framework for teaching and learning grounded in empirical research. Whether you’re a new instructor or have been teaching for years, teach face-to-face, hybrid, or online, these modules will help you articulate your own teaching philosophy and better serve your students, regardless of discipline.

This course outlines your roles and responsibilities as an instructor under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). It provides an overview of the accommodations process – when students make requests for support for their disabilities – and lists resources available to you during this process.
