Student Dry Erase Surfaces

Student dry erase surfaces (often whiteboards) are consistently a favorite tool of instructors teaching in active learning spaces. They have a very low entry point (everyone knows how to use them) and can be used in a wide variety of ways. Below are some ideas to help you start thinking about how this resource can be leveraged in your class.

If you would like to discuss any of these ideas further, or discuss additional ways to leverage this resource in your class, you can request a virtual or in-classroom consultation.

Looking for more ideas for utilizing whiteboards in class? The Mosaic Initiative has a some in-depth blogs on this topic that are easily adapted to any classroom space with dry erase surfaces.

Interested in additional teaching resources? Teaching.IU connects instructors to university-wide resources and communities of educators across IU. The mission of the site is to gather and curate a wide array of teaching resources, available to all instructors.
