IU East Faculty
Hannah Castor and Beth South
IU East has been fortunate to have many distinguished faculty members over the years. As IU East is a small campus, our faculty have often taken on many roles and responsibilities outside of teaching in order to provide our students with the best opportunities. Gary Keesling was the Director of Admissions in the 1970’s, but he also coached the men’s basketball team in it’s club days as well as teach. Tim Scales was the head of bank before becoming a full-time faculty member in Finance and Economics, leading The Center for Entrepreneurship. Below are just a few of our faculty, past and present, who have made lasting impressions on the campus and on its students.
The Goal of Every Faculty Member: Tenure Track

Let’s Not Forget About the Adjuncts
While the goal for many faculty was to obtain tenure, not every faculty member who has taught at IU East obtained tenured track and there were many talented and wonderful teachers and professors who only worked part time as adjunct faculty. Adjunct faculty were integral to the success of the IU East campus and they continue to play an important role here at IU East today.
