We are excited to present this end of the year 2019-2020 annual report representing the incredible work and numerous accomplishments of the entire Financial Aid team.

We worked each day to help students reach their higher education goals and graduate with a degree from Indiana University.

Here are some highlights from the great progress we had:

2,616 (79.1% of 3,606) students received of type financial aid.

We processed a total of $23,928,051 in financial aid for 2019-2020.

We awarded 878 students various scholarships types including, athletic, merit/institutional, and foundation. We awarded a total of $1,271,686.

186 Athletic scholarships-$206,083

473 Merit scholarships-$736,965

219 Foundation scholarships-$335,591

Our office wants to make a significant contribution to the community therefore we participated in 12 external events including High visits, FAFSA nights, and scholarship events. We hosted College Goal Sunday on campus in November and February that were both open to the public. We also have assisted over 90 students with one-on-one visits with completing their FAFSAs.

We communicate with every First Year Freshman who sends a FAFSA to our campus with a Financial Aid Notification via postal mail. In 2019-2020 we mailed out 1,704 notifications to potential freshman students.

Our office has the honor to be home to the campus’s Veteran’s Coordinator. In 19-20, JC helped serve over 200 VA students and certify $485,938.28. He also participates yearly in the Stand Down event at the Local UAW 292.

In addition to all of these amazing efforts our office had to support students financially in their educational pursuits, the university received $1,252,810 through the Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act that was passed by Congress. These funds were sent to the university as a student portion to provide emergency grants to students. We were able to award 1,939 student’s grants ranging in amounts from $337 to $1200.

The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships continues to work tremendously hard for our students to provide them with the best service possible. We are dedicated to our work in public service and promise to continue to improve and grow for the best opportunities for students.
