Athletics

Despite dealing with the COVID-17 pandemic, there were many highlights during 2020 for Cougar athletics. These highlights include:

• Record student athlete fall enrollment; 229
• Inaugural full season of Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field
• Second highest department GPA spring 2020: 3.23
• Second highest fall to fall retention for all student athletes
  •  Retention rate of 91.5%

Athletic Team Highlights

• Volleyball
  • o undefeated at 18 -0 in the River States Conference, dropping only 2 sets in the regular season
  • o Conference regular season and tournament champions
  • o Won third straight conference tournament championship
• Qualified for the NAIA national volleyball tournament for the sixth straight year

• Men’s and Women’s Cross Country had highest team finishes in program history 3^rd in RSC Championship
• Indoor Track had two students qualify for nationals and earn the programs first All-American Status
  • Grant Gaylor was national runner up in the shot put
  • Lexi Jackson Finished seventh in the 5K
• Before the shut down in March of 2020 Basketball team advanced to the NAIA national tournament for the second straight year.
  • They won their first game to advance to the sweet sixteen before the tournament was canceled.
