16. Confidentiality and user privacy

As described in the ALA Library Bill of Rights, libraries and library employees have a responsibility to respect and protect the confidentiality and privacy of all library users. All user records maintained by the IU Kokomo Library are confidential, meaning that you must never share this information with entities outside of the Library, including faculty, staff, administration, students, or law enforcement. This includes circulation information and the use of Library or other academic support services. If anyone asks for user information or questions your inability to provide that information, you must direct them to your supervisor or the Dean of the Library.
