Library Cards
CrimsonCard:
CrimsonCards, the ID card issued to all students and employees on campus, also serve as library cards. Faculty, staff, and students of all IU campus may check out materials, provided they have their ID card (CrimsonCard).
If the user has not yet received their CrimsonCard, direct them to the UITS Help Desk and/or crimsoncard.iu.edu.
CrimsonCards must be activated in WorkFlows upon first use.
- While in WorkFlows, under the User section select Modify User.
- Open the drop down menu in the Index field; change Name to Alt ID. Enter Student/Employee ID number. Users can find their ID number in either the Student Center or Employee Center.
- Verify that the name on the card matches the name on the screen.
- In the User ID line, delete the NB number, and then scan in card’s barcode. The number on the student’s ID card should have replaced the NB number.
- Close the Modify User window and proceed to check out the items as normal.
If a user does not have their physical CrimsonCard, ask if they have the Mobile IU app. Use the digital CrimsonCard available in the app to look up the user. If they do not have their physical CrimsonCard nor the Mobile IU app, ask for a photo ID.
INRE:
The IU Kokomo Library can issue a library card, known as the INRE (or INdiana REsident card), to any resident of the state of Indiana. Anyone wishing to apply for an INRE card must complete an application and present a photo ID and proof of Indiana residency. INRE users cannot request items from other libraries. INRE users may also request a Computer Guest Account, see Computer Guest Account.
See INRE Cards under WorkFlows learn how to create an INRE Card.
ALI:
Indiana University Kokomo is a member of the Academic Libraries of Indiana reciprocal borrowing program that includes other academic institutions in Indiana. Faculty, staff, and current students may request a borrowing card that allows them borrowing privileges at participating institutions.
Our IU Kokomo patrons need to complete an ALI application. Provide applicant with card, located in supply drawer. Completed forms go to Access Services Supervisor.
Other member patrons, with ALI cards from their institution, need to apply for an INRE card.
