If an item is turned in at one of the service desks notify the Access Services Supervisor or a librarian on duty. They will contact IUPD to come retrieve the item.
In the absence of Access Services Supervisor or librarian, contact IUPD to come retrieve the item.
Those looking for lost items should be directed to IUPD.
Found items:
If an item is turned in at the circulation desk or found while on the floor:
- Items should be turned in to the Circulation Desk.
- The Student Assistant will notify Access Services Supervisor.
- The Access Services Supervisor will determine whether to contact IUPD, who will retrieve items.
- Items not accepted by IUPD, food products/clothing/other, will be logged and held for one month in the Access Services Supervisors office. After one month, the items will be free to any of our Student Assistants.
The library is not responsible for personal items left by a user, and Student Assistants are not to hold personal items for users. Student Assistants are to suggest to users that they should not leave their personal items behind and that they cannot hold the library responsible for lost or stolen items.
