15. University policies

It is your responsibility to be familiar with and perform your job duties in alignment with all IU policies, notably including HR-07-20 Confidentiality of Student, Medical, and Personnel Records which covers the University’s interpretation of FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act).

FERPA pertains to any student record, including circulation records in the Library. The daily operations of the Library will bring you into contact with protected student information which must never be shared or used for any purposes outside of your required job duties.
