26 Electronic Device Policy
Students may not bring personal computers, cell phones, smartwatches, or any type of smart electronic device in patient care areas. If these devices are brought into the hospital or clinic, they must be stored with the student’s personal possessions, which may or may not be secure. These devices can be used during lunch breaks and not within patient care areas.
Hospital computers must be used for eValue entry only. Hospital computers are not to be used for coursework, accessing Canvas, checking emails, sending emails, playing games, or web surfing.
Penalties for noncompliance are at the discretion of the Clinical Coordinator or Program Director. Please see the Professional Behavior Violations checklist for penalties associated with policy violations.
