9 Mock Scanning in the Clinical Setting

When in the clinical site, students may practice their scanning skills on willing department staff or other volunteers during slow times in the patient schedule.  In these instances, a registered technologist must provide the necessary supervision. These ad hoc scanning sessions are restricted to exclude scanning of the fetus. Any mock scanning of the gravid uterus must be arranged by and under direct supervision of the appropriate faculty and/or staff.
