8 Students as Research Subjects

Faculty neither encourages nor discourages the participation of students as subjects in research projects being conducted on campus. Students are prohibited to participate as a research subject during their clinical rotation(s) while in their clinical role. If a student wishes to participate as a research subject, this must be done on their own time. The student should be aware, however, that research projects are not risk free and that the risks associated with the project should be considered before consenting to participate. Before consenting to any project that would involve the exposure to radiation the student should consider the total effects that might occur from both occupational and research exposures. The student is not obligated to participate in any project by virtue of his or her student status.
