23 Stepping Out

I was always told I should save money for college.
I saved all of my money and when I graduated high school, my parents stole my money.
They wanted me to attend an in-state college and stay close to home.
I never thought I could be successful if I lived too close to them, so I left.
They did everything they could to stop me, but stoppable is not something that I was.
My parents told me not to join the military.
I always wanted to serve my country though.
It was the most honorable thing I could do as a citizen of the United States.
They said I could get hurt or killed, and I knew that was one of the risks.
I watch movies too. I did get hurt, but it is the best decision I’ve ever made in my life.
I never liked going to church.
Even from a young age, I always thought it wasn’t real.
Now I know it’s not, and 10% of my money goes into my storehouse instead of the church’s.
I am a member of the freemasons. It’s not a religion and everyone respects your choices
That’s the kind of family I like to be a part of. The kind where I get respect.
