Creation, a Natural Thing

It isn’t our efforts or intentions
that benefits the creation. “They danced
and fell
still the rains never
came.”

The creation
survives on hormones, conflict, emotion,
to produce itself,
A primal pouncing towards the species’ purpose.

This essence is an endurance
from the source
working not to acknowledge the degrees
to which we are guided
by that chemical call
a special equation
that is only for survival of a species,

Monet not in a
museum
but in a bin at an auction house, competing,
finding some value.

This is one interpretive conjuring.

Another: a duck sits on eggs,
near a nest where she
was warmed.
The ducklings are fluffy icons
of innocence,
of life,

“a little too honest, a little embarrassing”,

her only purpose to hatch
an egg.
