23 A Prisoner Without Crime

I’m a prisoner
I’m not trapped by concrete walls.
My day, just like yours
Only I do not have an
escape from this mindless place

You won’t notice me
don’t worry, I won’t see you
My head is down; locked
No emotion ever shows.
Faceless within a screen.

Where did the time go?
The sand falls from the hour glass
Busy sharing posts.
Everything seems meaningless,
New content every second.

My status: with friends
But what did we even do?
Time wasted, scrolling
Only one picture to show,
Proving we’re together.

Is this how I’ll die?
A Prisoner of my phone
Am I a victim?
A victim to a lit screen.
I’m trapped in a cyber world.
