21 The Diner At The Corner
I walked into the diner at the corner
As I have done for years
She was in the booth we always shared
Almost as if her figure was there
Her smile always just as beautiful
Everyone could stare
I fixed my collar and cleared my throat
Feeling like it was our first time meeting
As I made my approach
My hand reached out for hers
She faded away like the memory she was
My eyes start to fill with tears
I keep thinking it will be different
But this happens every Saturday morning
As I walked into the diner at the corner.
