Introduction

Overview

The ePortfolio provides a way for you to document and explore your learning experiences over the course of the internship and prompts you to think about the way this experience contributes to your career and academic goals. Essentially, it is a website all about you and your professional journey! Check out Sparky the Lightbulb’s ePortfolio with all the prompts for the year. We will also have a “yearbook” style website with intern ePortfolios to allow you easy access to see the other interns and their thoughts on the internship experience. View previous LHSI ePortfolios to see the finished product!

Clocking In

We understand the reflections may take time above and beyond your internship hours. You may clock in for an extra 5 hours per semester to work on your ePortfolio and program assignments. Each assignment will tell you the approximate maximum amount of time it will take to complete the reflection.

These hours are in addition to your 10 hours per week at your internship site. Meaning, if you work 10 hours at your site and clock in for an additional 30 minutes that week to do an assignment, that’s acceptable. You may also work on the ePortfolio, with supervisor approval, if you don’t have enough work to do that week to reach 10 hours.

Leave a note on your time sheet every time you clocked in to work on your ePortfolio or program requirements. We need a record of this to help your supervisor and/or timesheet approver understand why you clocked in outside of your normal routine.
