Journal Club: A journal club is a reoccurring event where individuals meet to discuss an article, research paper, or piece of literature. Typically, reading material is assigned before the meeting and an individual presents the content to the group before everyone takes part in the discussion. This is a great opportunity to expand your knowledge on the subject(s) your site deals with. This can be done virtually by video conference. Aside from printed materials, there may be podcasts, videos, or other content that can be the focus of your journal club.
Webinars: Webinars are online seminars held in real-time to present or share information, such as for continued education, professional development, or education on a product, process, or information. Ask your supervisor if they know of any upcoming and relevant webinars related to their work or the field. Many are free!
Informational Interviews: As your team to introduce you to someone in your field or profession of interest! These are a quick and easy way to learn more about a field, job, or company directly from someone with experience. Informational interviews are great to do because they can take place over the phone or via video conference and can be done in just 20-30 minutes.
