13 Checking Your Timesheet for Accuracy
It is important that you regularly review your timesheet to make sure that it reflects when you were working. Kuali Time can be glitchy or sometimes it’s easy to forget to clock in or out as you come to work or leave for class. It’s a good idea to take a quick glance every time you clock in to see that it all still looks correct.
The IU Payroll Office regular runs reports on past timesheets to check for accuracy of hours and notes. It is important that your timesheet is accurate and includes a thorough description in the notes section if you have mistakes that need to be corrected by your timesheet approver.
Checking your timesheet
Time Detail is a great way to check on your overall hours, especially if you have multiple campus jobs. Here you can also easily leave a note and check for mistakes. Click on the “Time Detail” tab (yellow circle in the image below) to review your overall timesheet calendar for a summary of all hours for the current and previous pay periods.
Time Detail and Notes
The screenshot below shows the view that you will see from the Time Detail tab. Use the navigation arrows by the dates to see previous pay periods. The blocks on the calendar represent the hours that you were clocked in. Only your supervisor can edit these blocks.
If you need any changes to be made, you are required to leave a note on your timesheet even if you have communicated with your supervisor through email or in person. Add a note by expanding the notes section at the bottom of this page (yellow circle/arrow). You can access the notes tab on the bottom of the main page shown in the screenshot. The notes section will show up in IU Payroll reports to verify that changes were requested by you.
