We recommend but don’t require these Canvas modules to learn more about cover letters and interviews. The modules were created by career services professionals from across all of the IU campuses.

The modules below are OPTIONAL and do not need to be completed as part of the pre-interview work. They are only there for additional guidance and information before you meet with career services.

Cover Letters (Email Introduction) and Professional Correspondence Module

There is a module to help you prepare your email introduction and other important professional correspondence such as thank you letters. You can also find information on writing a thank you note in this module.

Interviewing Module

There is a module to help you prepare for an interview. We recommend this module and a mock interview to be fully prepared for our interview process and any you might encounter in the future.

Resume Writing Module

There is a module to help you edit a resume if Brandi suggested you get more help. We recommend this module to edit your resume before visiting career services for assistance. It’s always easier when you bring a draft to your appointment.

Mock Interviews

IU Indianapolis has a distributed network of career services for students. This means that you can get school or field-specific help with mock interviews to practice and get feedback from a professional before you do your actual interviews. The Office of Student Employment serves all students looking for part-time work. Check your email for a link to your office.
