1 Why create a LibGuide

First, evaluate whether your content should be made into a LibGuide or a webpage, news item, or blog post.

• Consider creating a web page if your content is related to a particular division or department; is a library service that is not discipline specific; or is content that you will not need to update.
  • Context DUX if you need permissions or help moving a web page to its appropriate division or department.
• Consider creating a news item if your content is related to a particular event or if it is time sensitive.

• Consider writing a blog post if your content fits within an existing IU Libraries blog or if it describes a library feature or service that will be available for a while.
